Director's Message
Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to tell you that Professor Nanda Dasgupta (Nuclear Physics) has been elected Fellow of the American Physics Society. The APS recognises Nanda, “For advancing the understanding of nuclear fusion through precision measurements, highlighting the role of quantum superpositions and demonstrating the suppression of fusion for weakly-bound nuclei.” Less then 0.5% of the membership are elected Fellows each year and this is a significant recognition by Nanda’s peers. The inspiring image of Nanda above was taken from the https://www.womeninresearch.org.au/ website.
I draw your attention to the Deputy Director role for the Australian Physics Olympiad below. It’s very worthwhile and rewarding program to join.
Have a good week,
Tim |

Building Facts
The new entrance to the School will be on same level as it is currently (Level 3) and integrate an open space (over 340m2) with the School tea room, split between Levels 2 and 3. The entrance is an ideal space for poster sessions, conference receptions, industry/technical booths and outreach programs. It flows naturally into the auditorium and allows easy public views into the clean room. As the arrival point it readily connects to the School admin area, a public meeting room, 60 seat seminar room, board room, rooftop terrace and a new courtyard to be formed with the Cockcroft building.
