Director's Message

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to congratulate, Professor Stephen Hyde (Applied Maths), on his award of the Camurus Lipid Research Foundation Prize Laureate for his contributions to the science of lipid self-assembly, structures and functions.

Please welcome Associate Professor Patrick Kluth as the new Head of Electronic Materials Engineering.  I would like to thank Professor Hoe Tan for his leadership of EME over the past 3 years, as well as his valued contributions to the School community in that time.  I am pleased to announce that Professor Adrian Sheppard has renewed his headship of Applied Mathematics for a second term.

Over the next few weeks your Heads will start the discussion around the 3-6-9 presentations.  These will form an important part of our preparation for the School review in September and I'll be sending out guidelines after Heads of Department meeting this Thursday.

This weeks pic is from the Mike Gore dedication of the PEC teaching space and workshops.

I hope the Year of the Dog brings you all the best.

Regards,

Tim
