Outreach

Work experience is a great way to engage high school students and convince them to come to ANU. Last week, Claire, Year 12, spent the week in PEC and made a major contribution to Science Week activities later in the year. On the last day, Work Experience, Meristem and Questacon came together in the lab as Lachlan demonstrated the Ruben’s Tube. Andrew Papworth

Physics Education Centre

The inaugural students from the Photonics Masters program as well as tutors, academics and associates went on an excursion to the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex and the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve during mid-semester break on the 11th of April.   We contemplated the science of light in Nature and the Outdoors, enjoyed games and a BBQ in the presence of kangaroos and emus.  Many thanks to the tutors who assisted in organising the event.
