Research interests

Vincent Dupret is interested in the evolution of early vertebrates, especially placoderms which are an extinct group of armoured fish. He mainly focuses on the modification of the cranial structures, such as the endocranial cavity containing the brain, the path of major blood vessels and nerves, or the emergence of teeth. In order to study these features, he renders in 3D data acquired from CT or synchrotron scans.

He is also interested in palaeogeographic and palaeoclimatic reconstructions of the middle Palaeozoic (roughly -450 to -350 million years).
