We have presented illustrative examples for self guided waves of a homogenous medium. The same inversion procedure also leads to closed form expressions for examples of surface waves at a nonlinear interface or modes of nonlinear waveguides. For example, this reveals the bifurcation phenomena [40] associated with asymmetric nonlinear modes of symmetric structures [41].
