Doctor of Philosophy in Physics (PhD)
The Doctor of Philosophy program at the Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering enables candidates to conduct independent and original research activities in a multidisciplinary environment.
Candidates undertake supervised research training in either a full-time or part-time study mode with a maximum duration of 4 years for full-time scholars or 10 years for part-time scholars.
Candidates generally undertake their research studies at the School however external candidature in conjunction with an approved organization may be considered. A major thesis is the sole form of assessment for this award.
Potential candidates must have completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with at least upper second class Honours or equivalent and demonstrate the capacity to undertake independent research.
