14UD 15 Million Volt Heavy Ion Accelerator
The 14UD is used for creating extremely high energy beams of particles used for experiments ranging from studying the fundemental building blocks of atoms to radio isotope dating.

Superconducting Linear Accelerator
Coupled to the output of the 14UD the superconducting LINAC can give a further energy boost to the particle beams enabling even higher energy experiments.

H-1NF National Plasma Fusion Facility
The H-1 is a heliac used to study the physics of magnetically confined hot plasmas. The facility has led to the development of advanced plasma diagnostic/measurement systems.

X-Ray Computed Tomography Microscope
This instrument is capable of imaging materials with a wide variety of densities and sizes. From 5cm cores of rock, imaged at 20 micron resolution, down to samples less than 5mm across, imaged with a voxel size of less than 2 microns. The facility is undergoing continuous refinement and improvement.

Ion Implantation Facilities
The Department of Electronic Materials Engineering operates both a low and high energy ion implanter. These are used in the study of advanced materials, nanotechnology and electronic devices.
